The new Fortuner is an updated 2.8-litre (high-efficiency) turbodiesel engine that’s been specially tuned for both economy and power. With the upgraded high-efficiency turbocharger, it now pushes out a maximum power of 150 kW between 3 000 – 3 400 rpm and a maximum torque of 500 Nm between 1 600 – 2 800 rpm for maximum drivability across a wider spread of revs. The engine is paired exclusively to a six-speed automatic paddle-shift transmission. This model features an 8.8-inch touchscreen unit that has Bluetooth and USB compatibility. The screen also doubles as the display monitor for the vehicle’s reverse camera. Exclusive to the Fortuner VX is the high-quality JBL sound system with 11 speakers. The multimedia system is linkable to smart devices through the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
