Armoured Mobility joins Volkswagen South Africa at NAMPO Harvest Day 2026, showcasing premium armoured mobility solutions built for South African conditions
Johannesburg, South Africa: May 2026
Armoured Mobility has confirmed its position as an official armouring partner to Volkswagen South Africa.
The announcement comes as Armoured Mobility prepares to join Volkswagen South Africa in full force at NAMPO Harvest Day 2026, taking place from 12 to 15 May 2026 at NAMPO Park in Bothaville, Free State.
Held under the theme “Resilience through Innovation,” NAMPO remains one of South Africa’s most important platforms for agriculture, commercial mobility, fleet operators, business owners and high-net-worth individuals looking for practical, future-ready solutions.
For Armoured Mobility, the partnership represents an alignment between Volkswagen’s trusted vehicle engineering and Armoured Mobility’s specialist capability in discreet, premium armouring. Armoured Mobility is also now listed on Volkswagen South Africa’s website as an approved converter partner, further reinforcing the company’s position as a trusted specialist armouring provider for Volkswagen vehicles.
Over the years, Armoured Mobility has built several premium armoured Volkswagen vehicles, with the Volkswagen Amarok becoming one of the most popular and requested platforms among clients requiring protection, performance and everyday usability.
According to Nabeel Khan, General Manager of Armoured Mobility, the relationship with Volkswagen South Africa is an important step in bringing factory-aligned armoured mobility solutions to a wider market.
“Volkswagen has a strong reputation in South Africa for building vehicles that are capable, refined and trusted across both lifestyle and commercial environments. For us, becoming a Volkswagen South Africa armouring partner is a proud milestone because it allows us to combine that proven vehicle platform with our specialist armouring expertise,” says Khan.
“The Amarok in particular has become one of the standout vehicles for our clients. It offers the strength, comfort and road presence expected from a premium double cab, while giving us an excellent foundation to integrate discreet B4 and B6 protection without compromising the vehicle’s character.”
B4 protection is designed for discreet everyday security and offers protection against most handgun threats, making it ideal for executives, families and daily urban mobility. B6 protection provides a higher level of ballistic resistance, offering protection against more serious rifle threats while still maintaining the comfort, usability and premium finishes.
The Volkswagen Amarok 2.3T Double Cab PanAmericana 4Motion, currently available through Armoured Mobility, reflects this approach.
The Amarok features certified B6 Discreet Premium Armour, using high-grade imported ballistic materials to provide comprehensive 360-degree cabin protection while maintaining a clean, factory-style finish.
The protection package includes B6-rated ballistic glass, armoured A, B and C pillars, armoured firewall, roof and front fenders, full cabin protection, run-flat steel band tyres and a push-to-talk intercom system. The vehicle is built using lightweight ballistic steel and glass, ensuring that the added protection remains as discreet and practical as possible for daily use.
Khan says the quality of the Amarok build has been central to its appeal.
“What makes the Amarok such a strong armouring platform is the balance between capability and refinement. It feels premium, it drives confidently, and it gives our clients the reassurance that they are not stepping into a vehicle that feels heavily modified or compromised. Our objective is always to deliver protection that is discreet, reliable and seamlessly integrated.”
“For many clients, especially in South Africa, safety is no longer a luxury conversation. It is a practical requirement. The challenge is to provide that safety without taking away the comfort, usability and confidence that people expect from a premium vehicle. That is where the Amarok performs exceptionally well.”
Armoured Mobility’s presence with Volkswagen South Africa at NAMPO is particularly relevant given the event’s focus on resilience and innovation. Volkswagen Group Africa has also highlighted NAMPO 2026 as a strategic platform to showcase innovation, capability and mobility solutions suited to South Africa’s growth industries.
Armoured Mobility believes the future of armoured vehicles lies in making protection more accessible, more refined and more integrated into the way South Africans already drive.
“Our role is to give clients peace of mind without changing the way they live, work or move,” adds Khan. “Whether it is a business owner, farmer, executive, family or fleet operator, the requirement is the same, they want to feel protected, but they also want a vehicle that still looks, feels and performs the way it should. Furthermore, our armoured vehicles are more accessible through Bank Approved Finance options.”
As Armoured Mobility continues to expand its footprint across South Africa, the Volkswagen South Africa partnership reinforces the company’s commitment to building world-class armoured vehicles for South African conditions.
